Postal application - proof of application for spouse?

Hi there - we have applied months ago for this, however my employer has requested proof of our application. Though my wife has applied, I am a dependent of her, and so the application acknowledgement does not include my name only hers. How have others gotten around this?

Withdrawing a case and waiting for documents etc may take a long time, perhaps best just to wait.

Thanks for the response...appreciate it...but it was a slightly different question. To remain employed I need to prove that I have applied...but as I was not the main applicant - my name doesn't appear on the letter of acknowledgement from the UKBA. I'm entitled to work - but that's evidence I don't have.
Any suggestions for how people have 'proved' their application is in progress in such situations?

Yes you need to tell the employer to use the UKBA
