old work permit + tier 1 -- do i need cos ?

Hi,
i want to apply for ILR.
i have first 4 month Work Permit in 2008 and then I switch to Tier 1 while in UK.
Oct 2008 to Jan 2009 --> Work permit
Jan 2009 to till date --> Tier 1 G visa holder
i dont think it was tier 2 work permit, it was just old work permits; how do i know if it is tier 2 ?
Do I still need CoS letter / Salary per week etc documents? or I just need to comply with PBS points and No need for CoS etc ?
