I have submitted my long residency application back in April. I have resided in the uk and have been here legally since a child. My whole education was spent in the uk and I have completed my masters degree here. In all I have been here for 16 years.

I would like to know; as part of my ba degree in international relations I was required to spend 1 year abroad, I chose Spain. Is this period counted towards my absences from the uk? I had provided all documents from my uk university pertaining to this as well as the passport from this time but I am getting worried that this may put me over the required number of allotted days. Are there cases where this has passed?

I think it would be incredibly unfair to penalise me for doing something that was an essential requisite of passing my degree.i am now in full time employment and contributing to the economy. Please helpe, the only life I really know is in the uk and I do not speak my native language well enough anymore to thrive there.

I would appreciate all assistance that can be given.

Can you please tell us what age u were when u came into uk n whats ur age now also what visas u were holding all this time and what was ur parents status at these times. We need these information to guide.

I entered when I was 8 years on student visa and stayed at a private boarding school until my a levels where I then went to study at Cambridge uni, am now 25. All of my subsequent visas have been student visas until my last one which is due to expire in December and was a spouse visa, myself and my wife were unaware that I was able to apply for long residence at that time and were given bad advice to apply for the flr m. Unfortunately, as we are facing difficulties and may possibly split we both made the decision that we would be honest with the ukba and not apply for set m due to possibly not remaining married shortly after granting ilr.

I did return a couple of times during my year abroad but the passport we submitted covering this period is now being requested by the ukba, it appears they have misplaced it along with other documents which is quite frightening fortunately I was able to provide them with copies of the passport and visa which we made before submitting the application but as my total days out appear to exceed the limit due to travelling home for Xmas and holidays abroad etc I am worried that they will count my year abroad negatively.

I have attempted to abide by all of the rules at all times and have been very open with them regarding my situation, please tell me what are my chances?

What were your total number of days outside the UK?

720ish in total in the past 10 years including my year abroad

U shud have applied for set o lr long time ago anyway u have spent half of ur life in uk u r covered under article 8 u shud get it if not thn u wud have option to apply for dl I guess.
