Hi All,

Just wanted to share my positive ILR application experience at Sheffield PEO.

This was a Tier 1 General to ILR application and I was applying as employed and self-employed. Documents submitted were as follows...

1: Company bank statements.
2: Personal bank statements.
3: Payslips.
4: Dividend Vouchers.
5: Summary letter from accountant.
6: Invoices
7: Companies House Certificate of Incorporation of limited company.
8: HMRC Certificate of registration for VAT.
9: HMRC Company tax return acknowledgement.
10: Life in UK test pass certificates
11: Cohabitation Docs - Council Tax, Energy Bills
12: Accountant qualification proof.

I also included an extremely detailed and organised cover letter that explained all nuances of my case. Personally I think this was extremely important as it simplifies one's case.

Documents that I had with me in case they were required but did not submit were

1: Personal and company statements beyond the 12 month period.
2: Miscellaneous Companies House and HMRC documents.
3: All employment contracts
4: P60 going back 5 years as well as all P45 letters.
5: Letter HMRC confirming employment history going back 5 years.

The entire process from submission of documents to approval took a little over an hour.

Overall the experience was superb... extremely professional and polite people at Sheffield PEO. I did my Tier 1 General extension 2 years ago at Sheffield as well and that was exactly the same, I highly recommend the place and the people.

Please remember that so long as you qualify for your visa, carry all relevant documents and file them correctly and work on your cover letter to make the case worker's life a bit easier you should be fine.

Thanks, yes I applied on the 25th of October.

What about your absences from the UK? Did you just write about it in your cover letter without submitting any letter from employer/client?

Forgot to add this, sorry. I provided letters from the employer confirming the absence as paid annual leave as well as a print out of the e-ticket.

I also included dates of absence and explained it in the cover letter.

I m planning to apply for ILR this month and filling form SET(0) by myself. I would be glad f you can help me answer few qs.

1. page 11 of the form says "You must complete all four of the boxes.........,
I just want to know f this question is only for Tier2 applicant or is it for me as well as a Tier1(G) applicant.
7.11: How long have you lived in the Uk?
Please provide details of any periods of abscence of more than 6 months during that time.
My question is, whether I should write the date of my first entry to UK(8 yrs)
Or
I should write the date of my initial Tier1 visa(4yrs 11month),
If your ans is first entry to uk then I will assume that I have to give detail of my abscence over the last 8yrs period,

Plz guide me, i will highly appreciate

Regarding Page 11 of the form I believe the question is not applicable to Tier 1 general visa holders.

7.11 - It's about when you first entered the country which as you say is 8 years ago and yes you'll have to provide details of absence beyond 6 months for the last 8 years.

I'll see if I can post a templated version over the next few days.

Honestly it's no big deal... it's just a nicely formatted letter (bullet points, headings, sub-headings, tables etc in a word doc) that explains the details of your application.

All I did was follow the flow of the application and if at any point I felt that I needed to clarify beyond what was there in the application I put that under a heading in the cover letter.

The idea is to provide a clear case to the case worker.

Have you got your BRP yet? I am still awaiting mine. I called up DX and they said they dont have anything for me. I have to travel urgently and this is frustrating.

Yes I got the BRP last week. Usually takes a week or less.

What evidence did you submit for English language requirement?

I only needed the Life in UK test certificate.

The new English test rules came into effect on the 28th of Oct, my appointment was on the 25th.

Could you confirm if Companies House Certificate of Incorporation of limited company is necessary? I have lost my incorporation certificate and do not know what can be done now. I have ILR appointment next week.

I am not sure if it is necessary but I think they expect to see it as part of documentation that you provide about your company.

You would have received the certificate via email when you formed your company. I would suggest that you print that and take it with you... that's what I did.

If you can't find the email you can request information about your company from the Companies House website for 1 or 2 pounds and the incorporation document will be instantly available for download as a pdf which you can print.
