Not sure whether Home office will agree to this but do anyone know whether you can request for them to put on hold the application until can gather proper documentations? if yes how to do this pls.

This for someone else but what she had was ESOL International certificate that was part of application for LLR/E. When we couldn't find any references to this certificate, we called hotline who told that this will meet requirements of KOLL so we sent in the application. Now received letter asking for "covering letter" which we don't have it and test college said that they can't issue as she was not enrolled for any course.

We tried to book in for Life in UK test but don't have any suitable photo ID. So it's a two fold problem:
1) request to put on hold application for certain days
2) request back the passport so as to sit in test

Thanks.

You can write to them and ask, they should allow it for the purpose of the Life in UK test as there is provision in the caseworker guidance for just that (on mobile device so not sure of link).

For other members applying for SET(M) by post, use the Settlement Checking Service and you'll get to keep all your documents, including passport.

Thanks D and really will appreciate the link or case no or any other details on that case.

Yes we were aware of checking service but it was simply nightmare just to book appointment. We tried almost whole of the week, left voice messages each and every time but no one ever replied back.

Another problem is we've already tried booking Life in UK test but don't have any suitable/required photo ID. So also have to request back the passport and looking at guidelines, it seems that whenever asking back for passport means withdrawal of application.
