SET (O) Form - Some Questions (Please Help)

Hi All,

I am currently in the process of filling out my SET(O) form for ILR & there are a few questions which I am not sure of & was hoping I could get some help over here. I am sure you guys understand how important it is to make sure that everything in the form is correct so apologies in advance for all the questions & for being so paranoid. I have listed my questions below. I am applying as a Tier 1 general. FYI, the SET(O) form is here –
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... o04091.pdf

Do I need a police registration certificate?
Answer: No, as you are an Indian national.

I changed address about 2 months ago & the address which I currently reside in is different from the one which I stated when applying for the Tier 1 general extension. I did not notify UKBR. Is that a problem?

Page 7 – 1.4 & 1.5:
1.4 asks for your full name & 1.5 asks for your surname. Do I exclude my surname in 1.4 or is it to be mentioned in 1.4 & 1.5?

Page 11 – 5.2: Do you or your partner or both pay any mortgage for your home? If yes then how much per month?
I own a house with my girlfriend (French national, not a dependent) & we both pay mortgage (50/50). Do I need to mention the amount which I pay alone or the combined amount? The entire amount goes out of my account & my girlfriend transfers her half to me before.

Page 14 – 6.1: When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This refers to the date of your first entry into the UK at the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based.
I have been in the UK for about 5 years with a Tier 1 General & 7 years in total, first on a student visa & then on IGS. Should the date that I specify be the date that my Tier 1 commenced, even though I had lived in the country for about 2 years prior to that?

Page 14 – 6.2: Since then have you had any absences from the UK? If yes, give the dates you left and returned to the UK and the reason for the absence in the spaces below. List all absences however short and in date order.
Do I really need to state all the times I have entered & left the country for the past 5 years? What if I am not sure of dates? I have made many short trips & would find it extremely difficult to get the dates.
Answer: So long as absences are < 180 days per 12 month period, no evidence should be required.

Page 14 – 6.3: What evidence has been provided to support the reasons for all absences from the UK?
How can I get this? I have worked at three different companies in the past 5 years. Do I need to contact them & get some sort of proof that I took holidays? What if I only went for a weekend?
Answer: So long as absences are < 180 days per 12 month period, no evidence should be required.

Page 16 – 6.11: Please give the dates of any absences spent outside of the Crown Dependencies and the UK.
How is this different from 6.2 on page 14?

Page 25 – A5: Previous earning.
Gross or net? When I claim points for previous earnings would it be for my gross salary or net amount paid?

Page 31 – D1: Please confirm whether you have spent a continuous period of 5 years lawfully in the United Kingdom.
I have been here for 5 years but have taken holidays of 2-3 weeks per year each year. Should I answer as yes or no?

Page 46 – 8: Give details when your fingerprints were taken.
When I got for Tier 1 general extension 2 years ago. Should I only specify the date?

Page 46 – 9: Give details where your fingerprints were taken, including the town or city and country.
At Lunar house, Croydon. Should I only specify London, UK or should I give the full address.

Page 49 – 11B: Work permit holder If you are applying for indefinite leave to remain on completing 5 years’ continuous stay in the UK as a work permit holder, in addition to the relevant documents in 11A, you must provide the following:
Is this applicable to me considering I am applying as a Tier 1 General?

Page 51 – 11L: Tier 1 (General) migrant if you are applying for indefinite leave to remain on completing 5 years’ continuous stay in the UK made up of leave as a Tier 1 (General) migrant and leave as a highly skilled migrant, work permit holder, innovator, self-employed lawyer or writer, composer or artist, in addition to the relevant documents in 11A, you must provide the following documents - Evidence specified in section 9A of this form. For the period before you were granted leave as a Tier 1 (General) migrant, documents showing that you met the relevant requirements of the immigration rules.
Please refer to the part in red. Do I need to show documents for when I had a student visa followed by IGS? If yes then what documents?

Apologies once again for such a massive post with so many questions, but I need to get this right the first time & really had nowhere else to turn to. I would really appreciate any help whatsoever.

Cheers,
Ducky

Hi All,

I have modified my original post by highlighting the answered questions in green & stating the answers in the original post itself.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me out with any of the questions... Even if you don't know the answer to all of them then I would be really grateful if you could please at least give me some guidance on the ones which you do know the answer for. I have searched the forums but have not been able to find anything definitive.

Thanks,
Ducky
