ILR application - Evidence of English

Hi all,

I just applied for my ILR and I was informed during the assessment everything was okay but I was told I needed just one more document which is the evidence for English Listening and speaking skills and I need to provide this within the next 10 days.

As part of this checking process I have sent one of my qualifications obtained in the UK to the UK NARIC for assessment and awaiting their response.

The question now is, I also have an OCR Level 1 certificate in Adult Literacy I just want to know if this can also be submitted and does it meet the speaking and listening requirement.

I need your help.

Thank you

ABaba

Is your degree awarded 20/30 points for qualification and 10 points for English Skills on the PBS calculator?

See also, approved tests (click).

Thank you amber. The qualification wasn't a degree but a Diploma taught in English. I have looked at the link you kindly included but their was nothing in the list to indicate if an OCR Adult Literacy Level 1 was among the approved list criteria.

Hi All,

I'm not sure if this will help anyone who is thinking of applying for ILR and they require evidence of English Language (Listening and speaking).

I just received an email from the UK Naric after I sent my Diploma qualification to them for checking that it met the criteria set out by HO.

It looks like anyone who studied or is studying here in the UK is exempted. Below is their response:

Thank you for contacting UK NARIC. However, we are unable to process your application for the following reason(s):
Your qualification has been awarded in a country that is exempt from the English language requirements set out by the Home Office. Qualifications from majority English speaking countries do not require an English Language Assessment. It is recommended that you submit a copy of your qualification directly to the Home Office to support your visa application.
If you have already submitted a payment for an English Language Assessment, this can either be refunded to you if requested in writing or transferred towards a different UK NARIC service. Please contact us by telephone (0871 330 7033) to confirm how you would like to proceed.
Kind regards,
UK NARIC
