Hi guys,

I am planning to apply ILR for my wife who is atm on parter's visa and will be finishing two years next month. I looked at the documents needed for cohabitation proof described in the SET(M) form as well as went through few cases mentioned in this website. I still have a query on this as in my case we do not have any documents on joint names. I have following set of documents over the period of 2 years on individual names and on the same address:

Wife's Name
bank statements
Salary slips
NHS card and appointment communications
National Insurance registration letter
HM Revenue and Customs letter

My Name:
Tenancy agreement
Bank statements
Driving licence, MOT, tax communications
mobile phone bills
NHS card

I understand from the note in SET(M) form that I can submit 12 individual letters on the same address for 2 years period. But my question is do I need to give a justification letter why there are no documents on joint names? If yes, can any of you suggest what I can say in such letter? Is it essential to have atleast one/two documents with joint names?

Any suggestion/advice on this is really appreciated as I am planning to get a PEO appointment for this month end.

Many Thanks,

Sud

It's not essential to have documents in joint names. Carry on with what you intend to do....submit 12 (instead of six) in single names, spread as evenly as possible throughout the 2 year period...from at least 3 different sources.
