Hi guys. I live in uk for last 6 years. In 4 years time im aapplying for Ilr. However my non Eu government is changing our passports into biometric ones and my passport will be not valid from 2015 dec since the new ones will come into force but my non bio passport is valid until 2025 I have a uk permit that ends in 2018 then I can apply for ilr. My question is: does ho require me to obtain current biometric passport which will be in force then? Or they don't really care about other country's regulations as long as I am legal here and my document is not out of date but not valid?
Thank you

As long as you have legal stay in UK and have a valid foreign passport, UKBA don't really care about your country regulations.

Usually the introduction of any new feature in passport does not make invalidate the existing/already issued passport which remains valid till its expiry. But still if you want to make a new passport even in that case your visa/leave will be fully valid, just carry both passports.

The International Civil Aviation Organisation has set a deadline of November 24, 2015 for globally phasing out all non-Machine Readable Passports so after that date no one will be able to travel anyway with NON-Biometric passport

Thank you guys for your responses!!
I would love to get new bio passport but my government destroys the old passport before issuing the new one. So I will better stay in UK as long as I can get my pr with my old passport but as a separate document

Does that mean that they won't grant me PR with my non MRP?
