Who should I contact and what should I do?

UKBA website says :
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... uage-life/
Exemption because of disability
If you have a long-standing, permanent disability which prevents you from learning English, you may be exempt from the KOL requirement. To be exempt, you must:
be suffering from a long-term illness or disability that severely restricts your mobility and ability to attend language classes; or
have a mental impairment which means that you are unable to learn another language.
When you apply for settlement, you should send us evidence from a medical practitioner confirming your disability.
If you require special arrangements to be able to learn English or take a test, you are not exempt - you still must meet the KOL requirement.

Have a look at
this UKBA document, and then search for the word "blindness".
There you will see :-
Life in the UK test centres and many colleges can cater for a variety of disabilities, such as blindness. An applicant may be able to do the test even if they produce evidence of a disability.

So I should book the test for my dependent?
Because the Life in UK test center website says, book and then tell us in the booking form if you have any disability? How would it help if we go there with no preparation or they would contact us for an alternative arrangement?

How would it help if we go there with no preparation .......
Well clearly it would not help if there has been no preparation. I think you need to track down a place that can give tuition to a blind person, and discuss how they would take the test.
When does her current visa expire? Also in May?

sjunejo, I am obviously not asking you to post the whole address, but please do give us an idea where you are in the UK.
Someone might then be able to suggest where she might study and/or take the test.
