Firstly, a big thanks to every single contributor on this Forum. Your advises, reassurances and experiences have really helped me over the years with close to 6 different visa applications to the home office. I have been in the UK legally since 2001 and I have only just been able to meet ILR requirements.

I applied after 5 years on Tier1 general which was initially granted while switching from Post Study Work Visa in the UK (First Tier 1 visa was granted 6th May 2009)

I applied using SET(O) form from Dec 2013 and not the new one released Apr 2014

I paid the old fees £1426 online at initial booking. Nobody at PEO asked me to pay any extras in light of new fees.

The whole process took about 2 hours.

I submitted the following:

1. Completed SET(O) form (including 2 recent passport photographs)
2. Point Based Calculator work out sheet
3. Pass notification letter for Life in the UK Test (passed in 2010)
4. Employer Letter (also covering absences for duration of qualification period)
5. 12 monthly Payslips (signed and stamped) from 25th March 2013 to 25th March 2014
6. 12 monthly Bank Statements from 25th February 2013 to 25th March 2014
7. P60’s covering tax years 2008/2009 to 2012/2013
8. International passports
9. BRP Card

The Cardiff PEO is quite small with not too many people. Its an easy walk from Cardiff Central Station (thanks to the almighty google maps). In all, the experience was okay. I am just relieved that my association with the UKBA is one step closer to being DONE!
Goodluck to everyone who is looking to apply for ILR

L

Do we have to provide Employer letter regarding absence even if the absence is less than 180 days?

I got my employer to write a letter for absences even though my absences were all less than 180 per qualifying period.
My interpretation of the rules is that you have to do this.

L

Hi,
Congratulation on your success. Can you please let me know which date you put in question 6.1. You first entry date to uk as a student or your Tier 1 G issue date(6th May)?

Also in question 7.11?
Regards

I used the issue date of 6th May 2009. I followed the recommendations in the FAQ for this forum.

Congrats mate on your ILR success.

And Thanks for your prompt reply on this as I was typing the same question and had confusions in my mind and partly decided to put my Tier 1 date (2009) not the original date (2005) when I came here

I have put another question in this forum regarding 6.3 http://www.immigrationboards.com/indefi ... 62125.html

Even though its not related to you as you are employed and I am working as a director of my limited company can you advice me what should I select in 6.3 ?

Regards
Ali

Many congratulations,

I have a query, if anyone shed some light on it please.

I am applying for ILR next month May 2014. I am main applicant (2 dependents, my wife + daughter). My wife and me married in Dec 2009 and staying in the UK ever since, together, she went to India in Sept 2012 and came back in April 2013 (Pregnancy and delivery). I have never left country more than 180 days ever since I have entered in the UK in Aug 2006.

Do you guys think there will be any problem for her in getting ILR? We have 2 proofs of staying together on same address since Dec 2009.

Will be appreciated if someone can give their opinion.

Thank you.

I think the continuous period only is necessary for the main applicant, not for the dependent.

Congratz.

Can you please advise the absence letter from employer template ?

What was the exact wording did you use in the employer letter ?

How about absense from previous employers ?
