Very Urgen-English language dep. NARIC confirmed eq to UK BA

Hi,

I applied to UK NARIC for comparability and language assessment for my dependents(wife). They confirmed degree is equivalent to UK bachelor but could not confirm whether the degree meet the requirements of CEFR level C1. Additional comments say that although it is confirmed that english is the medium of instruction in the teaching and examination system of the department providing this award but we are unable to establish it meets C1 requirement upon completion.Just wasted around 110 pounds on this. I also spoke to them and they say, they only judge degree to the level of C1 and nothing below or above this. For ILR, i think the requirement is ESOL at B1.
My questions

Q1. I am applying to ILR after 10 days, is it enough that i attach the UK NARIC comparability statement with the certificate from the awarding university as proof of english.
Q2. The requirement for ILR i understand is ESOL at B1 level?
Q3. Does she need to appear for ESOL level B1 and if yes, which are the recognized home office approved centres in London.
Q4. Can someone share personal experience of UK NARIC comparability with certificate from awarding institutions and have got ILR.

Thanks

This has been answered many times in the forum. Go for Q 1.

You supposed to be applied for the level of English not comparability. If it is possible ask the University to provide you a letter that the degree/course has been taught in english

Thanks, I have already got a letter from the college/university signed by the principal of the college where the degree was taught and researched and they confirm medium of instruction .Is that enough?

So the letter of comparability from NARIC plus a letter from the degree awarding institution confirming language of instruction is english would suffice.
In worst scenario, would they reject my application on the basis?

The NARIC statement of comparability with the English Language Assessment will prove B1 (the ELA states it is taught in English, even if not to C1 level).

Thanks Ambar, so u r basically saying that NARIC comparability of eq. to UK bachelor plus english language confirmation from the university in the country of award would be enough to provide B1 level and is sufficient for ILR. No need to do ESOL level B1/B2?

Yes, but what I am also saying is that if the NARIC English Language Assessment states it was taught in English that would suffice with the NARIC statement of comparability.

I have already explained that above. Why are you confused?

But it further says that " It unfortunately has nit been possible to confirm that the necessary english language requirements for CEFR level C1 are met upon completion". This last sentence just made a bit confused. Do i need to add and submit this 2nd letter ELA with this sentence from NARIC with the first NARIC letter of comparability?

Although they could not confirm it met C1 English, the ELA did confirm the degree was taught in English and the NARIC statement of comparability confirms it is equivalent to a UK degree, thus, them both with the degree certificate should suffice B1 English in addition to LIUK.

If you have medium of instruction letter from university then it's better to provide that as well. Better safe than sorry.
