Hi Folks,

I'm a silent reader of this forum..... Can't thank you enough to the people who are always sharing the useful informations and experiences about the immigration in UK.

Entered Uk: 27/03/2006 as a student (PhD Scholarship)
Tier 2 General visa: 11/06/2009 to 15/06/2010
Tier 1 General visa: 13/04/2010 to 13/04/2013
Tier 1 General extension visa: 26/09/2012 to 26/09/2014
Applying ILR in croydon PEO: 14/05/2014 (exactly 28 days before 5 years)

Documents
1. Set O form
2. 10 months payslip
3. 10 months bank statements
4. Life in the UK (main applicant and dependent)
5. Dependent PhD certificate (UK degree)
6. Some cohabitation documents (main applicant and dependent)
7. Payment sheet
8. Letter from University employment (I don't think it is essential!)

Interestingly, I have another hundreds of documents I'm my car, just in case!

Only thing I still do not understand why they are charging so much money for the application. If they want skill immigrant to settle in UK, this is not the way. I have a colleague (non-eu) who worked in Germany as a Scientist like me. He spent only 80 euro for two years visa extension and also got some public funds like child tax credit. I got my visa extension in September 2012 at the croydon PEO costs me £2700 (main applicant and dependent) and of course we are not even entitled to breath more air than needed!

Hope to share some good experience later with you guys.....
