Cohabitation documents TOTAL 6 or 18?

Post by nionlight » Thu May 15, 2014 9:32 am

Dear members,

I will need to apply for my wife's set ( M). I am sure it has been answer many times, but I couldn't find exact clarification. So apologies in advance! :P

The guidance says 6 letter from 3 different source. So, My question is, is it total 6 letters or 6*3=18 documents?

For example, For June 2013 do I need to provide 3 documents from 3 different source, or just 1 document from once source for June 2013 then for October 2013 another letter from another source etc?

Thanks for clarification.

One joint letter or a letter each for every 4 months of the last 2 years, from a total of at least 3 different sources.

Hi amber,

Thanks for reply. But I am at same limbo I am afraid :( "from a total of at least 3 different sources"

So the source is just mix and match? On June I give 1 joint letter from one source, then on October I give joint letter from another source? or I have to give 3 sources for all 4 months interval?

Sorry for confusion...

It means that all the documents in total must come from at least 3 different sources, so if all were joint, you'd include 6 joint letters over the last 2 years which came from 3 different sources, e.g., 2 from the bank, 2 council tax and 2 credit cards. Not 3 sources for every 4 months, one source every 4 months, but in total at least 3 different ones.

I think it is not mandatory that the documents have to be on joint names. If there are letter addressed to either main applicant or spouse on the same address, that would suffice in addition to marriage certificate? One or two on joint name is fine but not necessary?
Ambar could you confirm this please?

Hi Amber,

Me and my husband applying for ILR using SET(O) form and appointment in 2 weeks @croydon , but i have no joint account and i am submitting.

1) Council tax letter
2) Polling card
3) Tenancy agreement
4) NHS letters
5) Marriage certificate
6) Baby birth certificate
7) Thames Water explaining that i am additional account holder on this account

Do you think thats enough or should i order my last 2 years bank statements too?

Thanks,
Shumaila

That should suffice fine. I assume that you both have letters addressed to each other over the 2 year period.
