When to apply ILR

Hi

This post is on behalf of my friend who wants to apply for ILR and not sure when to apply. I wonder if you could shed a light on this.

1) He got his Post Study visa in Jan2010 till 2012. He applied for Tier 1 General Visa in 2011 and got it extended in Nov13 which is until 2016. Could you please advise me if his post study visa counts towards 5 yr residency period? Will he be able apply for his ILR in Jan15 or in 2016?

2) If he's eligible to apply for his ILR in Jan15, how much income will he have to show?

Your help in this matter will be much appreciated.

No. 245HF(c)(vi).
