Respected Members,

I would like to thank all the members, moderators who helped me in getting my ILR today. I applied under Tier 1 General migrant with my wife who came to UK before July 2012. I am employed by UK company. I have submitted the following documents. The process was straight forward. My appointment was at 9:45 am and I left my place around 7:30 am. Croydon is around 1 hr 15 min drive from my place but still I reached PEO at dot 9:45 due to morning traffic. I parked at Whitgift car park for £5.50 full day park, they take payment before hand so please make sure you have cash. After I reached PEO, the process is straightforward, airport style security check, then case registration, then you have to show your documents to one of the registeration staff who will put your documents in one of their folder. After this you have to get your biometrics done and the person who take your biometric keep your documents and you have to wait in the waiting area. I received my approval letter around 12:05 pm.

I sincerely wants to thanks everybody who helped me answering my silly queries regarding my application. Any questions please feel free to ask.

Regarding cohabitation document, I believe you need 3 documents with joint names from three different sources covering the period of two years. Just submit as much documents you have to them.

Thanks, one more question please:

I have only been out of UK for small couple of week holidays each year in the last 5 years, does everyone? even who as not been much absent from UK - needs to write a Letter of Absence?

I have seen lot of posts where its mentioned that if your holiday is less than 180 days then you don't need to provide any proof of absence. But I got the above 'Letter of Absence' format from other member and submitted it with my application.

Hi,

Congratulations first of all...!!!!
Can you please send me/post copy of employer letter (format) and personal for absences from UK.
Also need confirmation on a couple of questions

a) Date of entry into UK -
Is this the date of arrival in UK or is this the date from which the visa is valid
I arrived 89 days after my visa was valid from which is below the 90 day limit, so will this be the Date from which the visa is valid(as it is under 90 days and can be counted towards qualifying period) or is this the date of arriving in the UK.

b) Number of years in UK -
Is this the duration from the day I arrived in UK or the day from which the visa is valid?
As i previously mentioned I arrived 89 days after the visa validity date.

Thanks,
Raj

You can download the letters from here:

ILR Cover Letter

http://bit.ly/1HQyQA8

Letter of Absence

http://bit.ly/1EFPxA5

Letter of employer

http://bit.ly/1EFPTXq

Also I believe date of entry into UK is when you actually enters into UK and like wise years in UK.
