I am in the same situation. I have applied for Tier-1 General in 2009 and travelled to UK in Jan2010.
I have done 2 extensions after that for which all I have used my IELTS which I have passed in 2009.
Now I am eligible to apply for ILR so if I want to apply for ILR in Jan2016 do I need to pass an english
test as from Nov15 there is a change in the rule for english language proof?

Eventhough my previous IELTS has been accepted during the initial acceptance and successive 2 extensions it will not be accepted for my ILR application in Jan2016 as there is a change in the rule in Nov15?

Pls advise so that I can quickly book an appointment and clear an english test for my ILR.

Hi All

I just contacted UKVI from Telephone: 0300 123 2241

I told them that I used my IELTS general traning result for my initial Tier 1 G visa at 2010 .. Lady told me that I need to take the exam B1 or above again.
Sad but true :|

Hi

Thanks for the input. But the link https://www.gov.uk/english-language/app ... ifications is updated today 19/11/2015 still saying we can use the previous test certificates.

Any seniors members can clarify please.

According to new Set o form , there isnt even a place to put the expired certificates.
August version has section 4.6 where you could put your expired IELTS cert. now rest of 4.5 has been removed.

Trinity test certificate

Post by svatuk » Sat Nov 21, 2015 5:10 pm

Hello all

Can anyone please clarify that, can we use the trinity test results documents which is be given by the centre on the day of exam? Or do we must need to wait until they receive the original certificate.

Also can anyone give an idea that how many days will it take to get the certificates after attending the test. I have attended the test today and have got the pass certificate signed by the staff. My PEO appointment is on Friday.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Normally, you should receive the certificate in 7 days. Have you signed for secure delivery? They post on their facebook page when they dispatch certificates. Unique Electronic Reference Number is important which you must have received in email. Goodluck!

Have you been provided with SELT reference number when they told you that you passed the exam ?
AFAIK you need to provide that at section 4.5 , dont actually need the hard copy.

" Provide the SELT unique electronic reference number provided by the awarding body: "

Hi silverTR,

If it is IELTS you can tick IELTS SELT consortium box and provide your test certificate number
of the expired set. Also, make sure that you mention that in your covering letter and attache
the original test certificate with the application.

Hi ram14esh,

You can use your expired IELTS certificate if it has been used in your previous entry clearance.

Hi Raduga001

Where do you base this information?
I will not risk my application and get B1 in any case. But I promise I will ask it during my application which is two weeks later.

Hi,

I am still unsure, whether can we still use expired IELTS certificate. Even I tried to speak to UKVI yesterday and a lady there held it so firmly that we need to get B1 exam as they would not accept any expired one.

Can anyone suggest, how can we be sure about this?

Thanks

I think it is because people at UKVI are contradicting with written rules . I don't think all of them are very well aware of the rules.
Today I called the UKVI again, and gentleman told me that I can use expired IELTS.
I already book for the exam tomorrow at Trinity Collage so I ll just get it ..

No offence to you or anyone else but, TBH, only fools call up UKVI helpline for immigration advice and specially about recent changes to immigration rules introduced.
And, more often than not, they end up with the kind of advice that you received on one occassion - inaccurate!!!

can we use SET (LR) version 08/2015 ??

Post by svatuk » Thu Nov 26, 2015 3:53 pm

Dear All

I am going to my PEO appointment tomorrow for SET LR.

I have received the completed application form from my solicitor a week ago with older version 08/2015 I just realise that there is a new version we have to use from 19 November 2015.

I just spoke with my solicitor they are saying we can still use this form for 21 days after the releasing of the newer version. Is this true?

On the first page of application form it is saying that "This form must be used for applications made on or after 19 November 2015"

I can fill in the new form that is not a problem but the old one which my solicitor sent having her sign.

Please advise.

ILR LR successful

Post by svatuk » Wed Dec 09, 2015 11:22 am

Thanks to all Moderators, Gurus, members and Blocked Username for your suggestions and feedback all the time.

I want to share my success story to you all, my ILR LR was approved on Monday this week. I have been to same day service. It was a nice experience. It just took three hours for the whole process.

Once again thanks to you all and good luck for those waiting for the result.
