Hi All,
My T1G visa is valid until May 2017 but I am completing 5 years on 2 Mar 2016 based on my 1st entry. I am planning to apply for ILR 28 days before 2-Mar-2016 (i.e on 4th/8th Feb 2016). Can anyone please confirm if this is fine? Does 28days grace time is only for people whose visa expires at the end of 5 years stay or you can use the grace period even if you visa is valid for more than one year after 5 years eligibility?

Yes, you can apply 28 days before reaching the 5 years residence mark.

Did you enter the UK within 90 days of your visa issue/start date?

Nope, I entered 23 months later of my Visa(EC) start date and had two in country extensions.

Entry Clearance: 23Apr2009 but entered UK 2 yrs later on 2Mar2011 for job search, went back to home country on 7Apr2011 for a month before taking up the job in May

You can apply no sooner than 28 days before 2nd March 2016.

What date are you planning to mention in Section 6 in SET(0) form?

6.1 When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This refers to the date of your first
entry into the UK at the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based.

I am little confused about this. I first entered in the UK on 9th September 2009, but I left after few days. I returned permanently on 4th March 2011.

I have received different responses from different people.

@Adeel, for me 2Mar2011 is the first entry and my 5 year calculation is based on that date.
