ILR Eligibility - Date

Hi All,

I am a Tier I (General) VISA holder and currently in dilemma regarding when can I apply for my ILR. My dates are as follows :

* Initial Grant of VISA - 9th Sept. 2010
* First Entry in UK - 14th May 2011
* Returned back to home country after obtaining job offer - 18th June 2011
* Second entry to UK - 06th August 2011 (started my first employment on 08th August 2011)

Since then I had never been out of country for more than 180 days, and have been in continuous employment. Now I am confused for my ILR eligibility date between 14th May 2016 or 08th August 2016. As per my understanding I must show continuous economic activity for 5 years before applying for ILR. Below is excerpt from "ILR - calculating continuous period in UK" guide.
"The Secretary of State considers a grant of ILR in the UK to be a privilege and the
continuous period requirement is the minimum amount of time which a migrant must spend
in employment or being active in the UK economy before being eligible to qualify for ILR. "

Can I apply on 14th May 2016 or should I wait till 08th August 2016 (My current VISA is valid till Jan. 2018) Thanks for your help in advance.
