Hello Eveyrone,

I have been reading various posts and am quite confused on one particular point. I will be applying for my ILR sometime in June. Now in the past 5 years I have only spent 126 days in total out of the UK. Out of which in last 1 year it was only 7 days i.e. between May 2015 and June 2016.

I actually changed my job during that time in August 2015. My last day with my previous employer was on 3rd August and joined my new employer on 17th August. My joining date was already pre-determined well in advance (sometime in July). I however wanted to take few days off to spend time with family and also did a 1 week holiday outside the UK. Now technically I was out of work during those 2 weeks and I was also not looking for work. Moreover I was absent from UK for a week. Does that make me 'economically inactive'?
Also will this have any impact on my application? I do suffice all the other requirements for ILR.

Any clarification on this is highly appreciated.

My general understanding is that it should be not a problem. But just want to make sure as I am no expert in this matter.

My understanding that the requirement to be "economically active" only relates to HSMP visa holders, but it is not relevant for T1G.

The real issue here is OP's lack of understanding of what "economically active" really means.

Does taking a holiday (in UK or abroad) between jobs make one "economically inactive"?

Nope it should not make one economically inactive. Especially in my case wherein the new employment terms were already agreed upon before I left my previous organisation. But the problem sometimes with immigration rules is that they are left open to interpretation. And that creates lack of understanding.

What is OP btw?

I am about to apply for my ILR and am finalizing my documents. Could someone please confirm the correct address on the letters? The address that I intend to use is:

Home Office, UK Border Agency
Public Enquiry Office
Lunar House
40 Wellesley Road
Croydon, CR9 2BY

This address was used by my agent I applied for Tier 1 (General) extension. I intend to apply in-person and will be taking an appointment.

That's great. I requested letters from my previous employment with the address mentioned in post. Don't think I need to change if it doesn't matter.
