what is the best application option to cover this gap. should I apply for FLR(O) , FLR(FP) or any other visa application to gain the time till October 2016. Entry date in UK 29th October 2006.

i think you should go for fp and mention within grounds that makes you case special, eventhough you are not entitled for fp. but many aren't any way,,

You should be aware that the HO have become wise to frivolous FP application submitted simply to buy time for LR. The refusals are often issued quickly and before the LR date is reached.

I don't understand HO rules. While I sympathise with people in the gap situation (I was in the same boat at one point and had to get married to cover  ), HO should not count any time spent under a rejected frivolous FP etc. application towards ILR clock to stop variations. You see them trying to curb immigration in genuine cases and then they go around granting ILR for people who clearly fall short of the set criteria. :?:
