My wife got her tier 1 ( general ) dependent visa on 04-July-2014 and first entered into UK on 25-July-2014. Her current visa expires on 21-Aug-2016.

I recently got my ILR on 10-June-2016 and have below few questions regarding her extension.

1) What visa category should she be applying the extension, so that she is eligible for ILR visa the earliest?
2) What documents are required for the above suggested visa category ?
3) When is earliest she can apply for extension?
4) What is the correct time for her to apply for extension keeping settlement in mind and also not requiring to take second extension before applying for ILR?

Thank you!

Were you granted ILR under the 5 year route or 10 year LR?

1. Tier 1 G dependent extension. There is no quick route to ILR. She will qualify in 2019.

2. Read the Tier 1 G Dep guidance notes and form.

3. Ideally within 28 days before her current visa expires

4. See #3 above.

Hi

I got my British passport last month and my wife is on Tier 1 General( Dependent ) visa. She will be eligible for ILR in July 2019. My daughter was born in UK few months back and got British passport directly.

My wife is now in India since last week of Feb 2017 and tentatively planing to come back in first week of Aug 2017.However we are seriously considering to celebrate our daughter first birthday in India.

Can you please suggest if this would be a problem for her ILR, if my wife stays more than 180 outside of UK?... ( roughly around 300 days contentiously)

Thanks in advance!
