When will I be eligible to apply for ILR

Hi guys, please I would like to know if I apply for ILR after 5 years with 1 year spouse visa and 4 years FLP visa.

I had a UK student visa for 3 and half years from 2006-2010.

I had a work permit for 1.5years from November 2010 to September 2011.

I had another student visa for 1 year from September 2011 to November 2012

I had a spouse visa from November 2012 March 2014. After I broke up with my ex wife and applied for FLP.

I had a Family Life as a parent visa from March 2014 to present on a 10 year route which comes up for extending in November 2016.

However, now I earn enough to be able to switch to the 5 year route; but I want to know if I can do this or if I could apply for ILR as I have legally completed 10 years in the UK.

Also, if I am not yet eligible to apply for the ILR via staying here legally for 10 years, can I apply when I have completed 5 years in the country starting from when my spouse visa was granted in November 2012 to November 2016 which would be a mix of Spouse and FLP visa.

Thank you.

You should be able to apply under the 10 year Long Residence route.

Thanks for your quick reply.

Can I apply through the 10 years long route even though I have had 2 student visas, one work permit, one spouse and FLP visa? I came into England in Feb 2006.

If you're right then I'll be booking for my Life in the uk test this week.

Thanks again

Ah right! I asked an immigration solicitor who said I wasn't eligible so he's wrong.

I have only been out from the uk on holidays for a period of 1 month. Will this affect my application?

I'm looking to apply in the next 3months and would have been here for well over 10years then.

I have also applied to extend my visas early and though overstayed but only during when the application was being processed, example. Visa expires 16 November, I apply 2 Novembee which means no visa for that period until granted by home office.

It confuses me a lot.

Thank you Casa

Use the SET(LR) form.

Read the guide before filling in the form.
