6.1 When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This refers to the date of your first entry into the UK at the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based.

What should be the answer to this question? I was granted a Tier 2 visa on 25/11/2011 through postal service in the UK.

When is the earliest I could apply for my ILR?

My Tier 2 visa start date was 25/08/2011 and I have got my ILR approved on 29/07/2016(27 days before the stamp date). No questions asked.

You can apply 28 days before the expiry date on your current visa.

The UKVI 'helpline' are notorious for giving incorrect advice. If you call 10 times, you're likely to be given 10 different answers. :|

I was granted a Tier 2 visa (first one) on 25/11/2011 through postal service in the UK.

My CoS start dates were: 15/12/2011
CoS End Dates were: 14/12/2014

Tier 2 visa issued was valid till: 15/12/2014.

When is the earliest I could apply for my ILR.

I don't think that it's a trick question.

Prior to your leave to remain application, when did you initially enter the UK and on what basis?

Can anyone please clarify this:

Does date of issue of Tier 2 visa marks the starting point for the qualifying period for a visa that is granted in the UK? Do we have to take into account of CoS start date?

It is the start date of tier 2 visa NOT the date of the CoS.
