Hi,

I applogiz if same thread is already on board.

Question is , can some one apply ILR without having
English test pass result; I mean can it be requested few weeks to hold ILR application and meanwhile can take test and send pass result or it simply refused?

Secondly, if HO give some time to do english test while
ILR application been processed and for some reason
English test fails then that under process application will
Be simply refused or HO give extension with same visa fee,one they already charged for SET (o) form?

Thanks

Immigration Board people are doing very good job , helping
Lot of applicants.

Evidence of B1 level English and the Life in the UK test must be submitted when you apply.

The HO won't put your application on hold while they wait for you to pass the tests.

I can't answer your technical questions. Just wanted to point out that the english test for ILR is dead easy. If you are able to write the post you wrote, you have more than passed. It is ten minutes of a conversation with an examiner. No reading, no writing.

I believe the enquiry is on behalf of jojybaba's wife.

The cost of the test is clearly a ripoff at £150 but I would send your wife ASAP to do it. You have little to lose if she fails as there is no limit on doing it again as needed. Sometimes HO uses discretion (again sometimes...) if she has passed the test before the application is examined.

Hi,

I really thankful for your replies and yes this query is for my wife.
Her ILR was refused 2 years ago as we requested HO to waive off english requirement on the medical ganuine grounds
But HO asked additional document for in detail medical evidence from consultant, not just from GP........then HO refused
But she already have PBS dependent which expiring this month.

She is trying and using official life in uk questions /answer
Book.

However I also asked ,HO just refuse case or grant extention
On same application.

One member used word ripoff for £150,it is right but it
Absolutely right when you see PBS dependent extension visa FEE which I think £1875 +NHS.

So huge fee and people like us giving fee since came in .

Now I also thinking to apply her British children dependent mother bases.

Once again thanks for all member who give time to innocent quires and put their effort to ease other's life.

Regards

If your wife finds the spoken word easier to understand the written, she may benefit by listening to the Life in the UK questions on headphones during the test.

She needs to learn from the official Home Office book.

The questions at the test centre are generated on the day randomly, they do not appear in the same order as any test preparation websites. She needs to have read/studied the book to be able to answer questions out of sequence.

You cannot learn for LIUK like a 'parrot'.
