not submitted a valid application form - plz help

Hi,
I applied in post for ILR and got a letter today that "not submitted a valid aplication" and they have sent me back 3 to 4 pages. That i can fill. I can see that the payment page is also sent. I had filled the details for payment my visa debit card details etc.
One query for the postal requests, do i need to pay in advance ? or have to send only my bank card details. Please advise quick, as 3 days have passed.
