I am a US citizen residing in the UK since November 2011, first on a Tier 2 company sponsored work visa (until July 2014), and since on an EEA2 visa as the spouse of an EEA citizen (Bulgaria) exercising treaty rights.

As I now have been a resident for five years, can I apply for ILR? Will the change in status during the five year period "reset the clock", such that I would need wait until five years on my current visa status before applying for ILR?

You don't have a current visa , you have a permit under EEA Regulations.

When you switched to the dependent of an EEA national your immigration clock was re-set to zero. You will now need to complete 5 years on your RC before qualifying for PR (not ILR). That's assuming that your EEA spouse is exercising their Treaty rights throughout your 5 year qualifying period.
