Hi, I am completing my Set LR (10 years) form, I visited swtizerland for 1 week back in 2008, at that time there was no visa required for students. I can see the entry stamp (coming back to the UK) but there is no stamp for arrival in swtizerland.

I don't know the exact date of arrival in switzerland.

Would really appreciate any help in this matter.

Surely, if you were there for a week, you entered a week before your (UK) entry stamp?? This happens a lot - people lose passports etc. Just do the best you can. Do you not have a flight itinerary on email?
