Hello everyone,

Thank you for sharing your visa processing timeline in here, it helped me so much during the nervous and frustrated waiting time.

After 12 weeks, I finally received my approval letter, here is my timeline.

applied for ILR Route : Set(O) postal 5 year tier 2 general (worked for the same employer) & no dependent
Date application sent : posted on 24/02/2017 Friday
Document received by HO : 27/02/2017 Monday
Ack letter received (if applicable) : dated 9/3/2017, received on 11/3/2017
Email acknowledgement: 10/3/2017
Biometric Letter received : dated 9/3/2017, received on 11/3/2017
Date Biometrics Enrolled : 14/3/2017
Payment Debited : 2/3/2017
Approval Received : 20/5/2017
Email reminder from HO: 10/4/2017 & 9/5/2017
BRP Card Received : waiting

I also tried to upgrade my application to premium service from 24/3/2017, I sent the request at 8:01 every Monday to Thursday, but no response apart from the automatic reply and for 3 weeks home office has stopped receiving upgrade, but I still kept sending the request, until 9/5/2017 they replied me saying I am not eligible for the upgrade. (Well, I guess the case worker might be comsidering my visa at that point, so no need for an upgrade, just being optimistic:-p)

Once again, thank you for sharing, and good luck everyone, hope things go well for all of you. I'll keep my fingers xxxxxxxxxxx

Finally received an approval for my ILR application. I have tried to put here the major events during this so it should be helpful for others.

ILR SET(O) application
application sent: 19th oct16
Received biometric letter and done - within 2 weeks
First contact to my local MP made - April19 (exactly after 6months of application)
Local MP sent letter to Homeoffice same week - No response from homeoffice
Second contact to my local MP made - 6th May asking him to follow up with Homeoffice
Interview letter received - 8th may17 asking me to attend on 16th May17
Interview questions asked - 44 (10 questions generic to job and my specialisation) remaining questions asked about my self employment, companies, money transactions into personal account, tax statements, Tax exemption claims, fuel claims, rental tax claims etc. If you are called for an interview, check the claim period bank statements (company & Personal) and be ready to be asked about any money coming in and going out above 2k. doesnt matter if its sending money abroad or moving into your savings account. one of the question was hmrc financial information about me and what i have claimed is different (one year hmrc showed my dividends as £0) for which i replied hmrc info is wrong and i can send my documents from accountant to prove this.
Asked me to send invoices and client contract within 2 weeks. Based on the interview questions, i figured out all the areas where they had a doubt and attached extra documents apart from what they asked.
The above step is crucial. The more doubts they have, the more time to find out. So interview is a good time that you understand their concern and send all documents with references.
For eg: I attached my client contracts with a sticky note giving the name and address of the client who sent me these contracts asking them to get in touch with him if they have any questions related to this.
Sent my tax document with information about my accountant. This way, it takes 5mins and a call for them to check the authenticity of my document.
Email from localMP office on 17th May - That MP has raised this with Homeoffice asking for a response and will let me know if any response received.
Received letter from LocalMP on 26th May with attachment letter from homeoffice - Homeoffice responded to second letter from MP that they have done my interview and the processing times are taking more than 6months and they will try and look into my application.
07/06 - Received letter and documents that ILR approved and biometric will be received in 2 weeks.

So these are the main events on my process. Apart from these a dozen phone calls/email to homeoffice, getting in touch with BBC to raise this issue (applicants not having documents for over a year which is insane). Not sure if the localMP following up helped me or its just gone through normal process but i suggest you try all methods. I heard lot of MP's are not responding positive because of elections but this might be the time they do something counting your votes in.
