Qualifying period and the premium service

Hi. I'm getting ready to submit an application for ILR, based on an Ancestry visa. I've been in the UK for over 6 years. I'm at the point where I want to use the Premium Service, so its (ideally) all done in a day, but see that "If you’re applying for settlement, your premium service appointment must be...within 28 days of you completing your qualifying period". For me/ancestry visa, I need to have spent 5 years in the UK before I can apply for settlement. May sound like a silly question ... but does that really mean that premium service is out for me, since I've been here 6 years, so missed the 28 day window? thats how I read the statement (from gov.uk), but I'm surprised because its a missed opportunity for more of that 'premium' business and there must be loads of people in the same position as me. I don't want to do make an appointment, then find I can only use the postal system, so any advice would be great. Thanks in advance for any help

You can apply now, you have not missed the opportunity.

The earliest you can apply is 28 days before the completion of the qualifying period. You can apply any time after you have qualified, provided you have valid leave to remain in the UK.
