ILR Plan - From LIUK to File Prep

Hi All,
Apologies if this has been asked or discussed before.
I will be applying for ILR in the coming months. However i would like to know from everyone what their ideas and opinions are regarding:
1. When should i appear for Life in the UK test
- is it okay to appear before few months? can that not be a problem or give away a hint to the authorities that this person is planning for an ILR
2. In terms of the documentations, when should i start collating and what should i collate?
- going via the Long Residency route is there a need for pay slips?
- will the officer go through the bank statements or even request for it?
3. Ties in the UK
- what if someone does not have ties in the UK? what should i answer here and will that have an impact on my application?
sorry for the many questions but i hope these questions will also be in the mind of other who would benefit from it.
I will continue to update this page from now until the time i apply and happy to answer any queries if others may have.
Thank you in advance everyone

LIUK doesnt have an expiry date.
For LR applications, u dont need anything other than 10 year passport showing residence.
Rest of the points are irrelevant.

when is it a good time to do the LIUK? just before the ILR is due or one can do it long before?
does the HO check NI and how much work one has been doing and etc?

As iWoker mentioned Life In UK Test doesn't expire so you can take test now or a day before ILR.

i think it needs to be taken at least 3 days before applying at PEO. Just in case the OP wants to take your word literally.

Just completed the LIUK test and passed.
i passed it in two attempts, failed the first test because did not prepare as good and the set of questions which came were quite difficult as well.
used online sources and the book.
found the questions easier today but they were confusing.
any questions, i am happy to answer.
what happens next now?
i still have around 6 months to do.

Congratulations,
For next 6 months just make sure don't' get in any legal trouble.
e.g. Shoplifting Speed fine or any other issue which you get summoned by Court !

thank you for the guidance everyone.
any suggestions as to which PEO is the best one to go to?
I had already set my eyes on Croydon but a friend recently went to Sheffield and said it was really nice.
Anyone wants to pour their thoughts in please?
thank you

It depends which PEO is nearer to you. All PEO are the same.

I am really sorry for the unclear question.
By my question i meant, that for someone who i waiting for the ILR which is due in a few months, time seems to be a major thing as well sometimes. you just wake up and think when is this time going to complete and you will go and apply for the ILR.
this in itself is a lot of struggle, which i am facing these days.
any suggestions or ideas on how can the time pass really quickly.

Days are nearing and i have been looking for the available appointments for SET LR at Croydon and it seems that
the appointments are made available 6 weeks in advance, and there are quite a few but in january only and nothing in december.
Any benefits of booking earlier appointments for eg 8:00am?

You should have tried couple of weeks back to get appointment in December. Croydon you may be able to get in second week of Jan 2018. If you try other centers like Glasgow you may be able to get end of December of first week of Jan 2018.

As I have said before it does not matter 8 or 9 am. If you go for 8 am you'll have to pay extra £75. Decision will be based on your application not on the time !
I see based on your previous posts you're struggling with the time ! Relax. Just imagine almost 10 years gone in a blink so the rest will go same !
Take it easy

Hi all,
Days are nearing and having booked the appointment already. I am now beginning to collate all the required docs for SET LR.
My immigration history is as follows.
Student Visa - 08 - 08
Student Visa - 09 - 10
Student Visa - Refused - 10
In time appeal lodged - HO error in refusing.
Appeal won at hearing in 5mins - Visa Granted - Student visa till - 11
PSW - 11 - 13
Student Visa 13 - 14
Student Visa - 14 - 19
I want to prepare all well before time and i will keep you all updated regarding the process.
Appointment is booked at Croydon. A bit scared though as this is the first ever time i will be going to Premium Service. And with the HO stopping me everytime when i return to Heathrow, I am a bit worried.
I got a SAR and everything was okay. No such thing to worry about.
Please guide me what documents shall i collate and any other advises
many thanks.

Student Visa - 08 - 08
It is usually helpful to state the complete date.
On what date did you originally ENTER the UK that you are basing your 10 years ILR on??
