Hi All,

My wife is currently on Tier 2 dependent visa and would like to apply for ILR. She has a Master's and PhD from India and She is currently working here. I know from this forum and UKVI that she needs to show evidence of English proficiency. I had a look at the UK NARIC site and they have 2 services for english equivalency for degree obtained using English as instruction medium.
  • Visas &Nationality Service
    English Language Assessment Service
First one costs around £130 and second one costs around £60. Which one is accepted for equivalency ?

If she has to take an English test , which one should she take ? IELTS Life Skills A1,A2 or B1 ? Which one is at higher ?

Test costs £150 and equivalency costs £130. If they say any objection in any documentation I could loose that £130. If it is £60 , I could take a chance. Let me know you thoughts

Hi,

I would suggest for the Trinity B1 SELT – GESE Grade 5 test. It is valid for Indefinite Leave to Remain and British Citizenship.

Regards,
