Hi,

I already have ILR(Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK) until 2022 But I need a visa to travel to Europe. This is not the case with a PR card. I want to ask if I can apply for a PR card?

Kind regards and thanks if advance.

What is your nationality?

What is your UK immigration history?

What makes you believe that you are exempt from a Schengen visa if you have a PR card?

How do you believe you qualify for PR?

Hi,

Thanks for coming back and taking time out to respond.

I am a Pakistani National. I came to UK in 2008 with family and kids. My partner is British as well as kids.

I was told that that I can travel to Belgium with a PR-card without a visa.

I am assuming I may qualify while UK is still part of the EEA-area. I am not sure hence asked the question to get opinion/s before wasting an application, money and time.

Regards & Thanks.

No, you do not qualify for a PR card as your spouse is not an EU citizen (non UK) and you are not in the UK under the EEA Rules.

PR is the same as ILR except it is under the EEA regulations. You have ILR based on the UK immigration rules so the same status as PR.

Why don't you apply for British citizenship?
