ILR application

Dear team,

I got my Tier 2 visas as below and wish to apply for an ILR.

Tier 2 general visa: 17 Dec 2012 to 20 Jan 2016
Tier 2 general visa: 19 Jan 2016 to 17 Dec 2018

I will complete 5 years of continuous residence on 17 Dec 2017. Am I eligible to apply for an ILR after 20th Nov 2017?

I'm also planning to apply for British citizenship in the next year. My spouse entered in the UK on dependent visa on 4 Jan 2017. Once I get British citizenship, can we make a British citizenship application for my spouse directly instead of completing 5 years of residency period?

Many thanks,
S

If that is WITHIN 28 days of reaching 5 years, then yes.

No you can't. Your spouse requires ILR before they can apply for citizenship. To get ILR they need 5 years residence. There is no shortcut.
