Applying for Long Residence IRL without old Passport

Hi All

Next year I am going to apply for IRL as I will be in the UK for 10 year. Earlier today I was doing my research and noticed that I have to submit all my passports that I have held throughout my life in the UK. Next thing you know I couldn't find my old passport!

I came to UK in September 2008 to do a certificate programme and a masters degree, completed these in September 2010. Then I remained unemployed for 11 months, found a job in August 2011. Since then I have been working legally.

In 2013, I have changed my passport as the previous one was about to expire. That is where the problem occurs. Having considered that 5 years of details have gone with this passport, can you please advise is there any way to still apply for ILR when 10 years is completed?

I have a police certificate showing that I came to UK in 2008, since then I have been registering it to the nearest police station whenever my address changes, I can find bank statements which goes back to September 2008, also I can get confirmation letters from the universities that I have studied during this time. Also I have been paying rent and other bills since September 2010 which can be proved via bank statements.

Luckily I have a bit of time to collect all the necessary info/additional documents so any assistance will be much appreciated.

Also has anyone managed to get ILR without an old passport?

Yes many have been successful in getting ILR LR without all the passports.

The SET(LR) form clearly states what evidence HO exepects to see for the periods where you do not have a passport.

Suggest read through that and try get as much evidence as you can.
