ILR through marriage

Hi,

I am already on a 10 year leave to remain route based on private life in the UK. Next year when I reapply, I will be 5 years in (so I still have 5 more years to go).

My husband to be is British. Is it possible to apply for ILR through my marriage after we get married as I would have already done 5 on my private life route.

My visa is due for renewal 6 months after we get married. If not, I can always carry on my private life route.

Thanks

You need to hold a 5 year route visa to qualify for ILR on Set(M) and this is usually a spouse settlement visa on FLR(M).

Marrying a British citizen does not give any concessions or advantages for ILR if you are not on the correct visa route.
