Hi!
I am wonderring when I am allowed to apply for ILR based on my situation.
I was on Student visa since Sept 2009
Got my Post Study Work Visa end of 2010.
Middle of 2012 - got my sponsored Tier 2 visa and I have been on those since then [with exception of 69 day break between jobs, i.e. 9 day more than allowed for 5y on Tier 2 application for ILR, reason why I got a rejection just recently]
I hope to apply for ILR via 10 Years Long Residence now

, if that term ends sooner than another 5 years on Tier 2.
Could you please let me know when is the soonest I could apply for ILR?

You can only apply under SET(LR) in 2019 but you don't seem to currently have enough visa to reach 2019 as you cannot extend Tier 2 for more than 6 years

I am in exactly the same scenario, except my gap between jobs is 61 days. Did you provide any written motivation/evidence explaining why you were over the minimum? I haven't applied yet but by the looks of it I probably shouldn't bother. My current leave expires in November 2018 which means I'll be 1 year short of 10yr rule if my 5yr ILR is refused.

The OP only posted this question yesterday and has not applied for ILR. Please continue in your own topic you already have.

Sure I will, but as you can see from below, OP said they were recently rejected for the ILR 5-year (Tier 2) route because of gap in employment and I was just chiming in that I'm in the same scenario that he/she described. Won't do it again thanks. See OP's quote:

sorry, what does it mean "cannot extend Tier 2 for more than 6 years"?

My employer was planning to apply for a new Tier2 for me next year. is that impossible?

my reason was - the HR made a mistake and had to re-create the whole pack - that caused the delay. But no one cares, unfortunately. They rejected me and clearly explained why. It has to be less than 60 days.

Assuming you are also user '
Kamilla133' as posting from same IP and similar email addresses and same
timeline of events when ILR was recently refused (click), (see also
multiple usernames (clic)) and have held a Tier 2 General since mid 2012, you are not able to extend on Tier 2 past mid 2018 or more than 6 years. So no, you cannot extend your visa.

this is profound shock. My life just went upside down.
the only idea in my brain right now is does that 9 day (over 60) break not let me re-start the Tier2 term?

You cannot remain on Tier 2 General for more than 6 years. Also please choose one user name as the other one must be disabled. If you do not choose which one you want to keep, we will disable one

Please disable the other ones. I simply lost the password and created this account - I will keep using this one.
Thank you.
