ILR in old passport, can transfer to BRP?

Hi guys,

I've literally only just found out about the BRP cards that ILR status carriers need to have in order to work. I am just wondering if I can still apply for the BRP card if my "current" passport has just expired? It expired in August.

Also, how long will it take before I can get an employer to do the "online" check? Is it straight away?

Thanks.

Yes, you must transfer it to BRP

thanks for that. So just to confirm, even if my "current" passport is expired (from august) I can still submit that and the passport with my vignette in, and they will give me the BRP card?

Also, do you know how long it takes until my employer can do the "online" checks and for it to say my application is "in process"?

Thank you.

Your passport expiry is not relevant.
After you apply, your employer can use the reference number to perform a right to work check.
