I have messed up my ILR and for a long time i knew and put if off. Now i have to sort it out for work.
My ILR is in an old passport.

I had ILR. left UK, reentered after over 2 yrs of absence. entered via gatwick. told the immigration officer out f uk for over 2yrs. he told me to wait went to check with his supervisor and said i would have denied you entry (but because i was with my children who were born in UK), he asked if i can get work i said yes, he said we will be a bit linient with you today and he stamp my passport. I was in shock i did not hear what he was saying. to be honest i expected to be refused, but i quickly ran out of the airport and did not bother confirming with him the details.
Do i still have my ILR or is it cancelled?
Do i have to make a new application for ILR?
This was back in feb 2014 and i have been working with the ILR
Now i have to change jobs and have been asked to apply fot biometric

I am very afraid, my fear is that i am going to be found out and could have no legal satus in UK once i disclose on my form(for biometric card) that i was outside uk for over 2 yrs

How do i check if my ILR was cancelled back in 2014 or what the immigration officer did, did he let me in on visitors visa?

Please help!!

What was the stamp that he endorsed on your passport?

If his endorsement had no conditions, then he must have kindly admitted you as a returning resident under paragraph 19 and you should be okay.

I read it but still dont understand. Admitted as a returning resident? meaning my ILR is still same ? apply for a No time limit stamp and biometric card

or do I make a new application for ILR ?

I still remember that day. the immigration officer was indeed very kind to me. just hate this constant fear and want to sort this out.

Just to update on this post, log in with the other username fordy has been unsuccessful.

thank you Vinny for your input and to the immigration board, everyone on here who contributes by sharing your immigration experiences/issues

after years of living/working in fear, all that time i was granted leave to enter back in 2014.

I went to the premium service on 9/1/2018 and was issued with a biometric card.
