Days In/ Out Home Office Calculations

Hiya.. Would anyone around tell me how is the Home Office would (track in the beginning!) and calculate the days spent outside of of the UK?

I'm applying for our ILR this Jan. and just wanted to verify things ahead..
Please advise..

Your passport stamps and the records they hold plus the details you complete in the form.
