ILR dependent visa for U.K. Born child

I have been looking at a lot of forums to get an understanding but of no use. So I thought I might ask

My situation: My wife and I are on ILR visa. Our son was born in the UK. We have not applied for his Indian passport. But applied for his naturalization (MN1 process). So he does not have any travel documents.
Now, we want to travel in January 2018. That is not seeming like enough time for his naturalization to be processed.

Question: What visa should I get my son so that we can all travel in January 2018? Is is FLR(M)

Appreciate all the help.

If both parents hold ILR, you could apply for ILR. Won't be possible though if he is already British but you have not received the certificate yet.

To travel he will need an Indian passport.

When did you apply for MN1?

Thanks CR001 for your reply.

I applied for MN1 on 24th Oct 2017. So, I think it is highly unlikely that his application might have processed. And with there being no way of checking the application status (the link to the beta service is taken down: https://contact-ukvi.homeoffice.gov.uk/ ... visastatus), I am assuming that the timelines of the visa processing would not let me travel in Jan.

Rather than getting an ILR for him, I'll like to get a dependent visa, if possible. However, I do not know what dependent visa should I apply for. Not applying for ILR might save some funds. So, just wondering if I can apply for FLR(M).

Thanks again for your prompt response.

First off, the child will need a travel document. Have you registered the child with the Indian authorities and got him/her an Indian passport?

There is no point applying for a UK visa if there is no travel document for the child to travel on.

You are trying to do things in too short a timeframe, especially with the Christmas holidays upon us. Can you postpone your trip in January 2018?

Hi Secret Simon,

Thanks for your response.
I should've made it clearer. I've applied for his Indian passport last week and I am expecting to receive it this side of Christmas.

It is just that I want to understand what dependent visa should I apply for so that I can save some funds on ILR.

Thanks again.
