Good morning everyone,

Sorry for the rush but my query is urgent now as I have an appointment early next week;
My accountant died last year and he was qualified ICAEW.. now his staff is running the firm and senior member of that accountancy firm are qualified book keepers. They have prepared the accounts for the company but I have realised they can not issue me a letter confirming my income since they are not qualified as per HO guidelines so please could you advise what my options are?

Option 1 ; Change accountant - I believe I don't have time for this now, also accounts are ready
Option 2 : Get accounts checked by another accountant and get the letter.
Option 3: get accounts audited
Option 4: ???

Please advise

Many thanks

I think it would be your accountancy company which will have the license to operate (not the accountant himself) unless he was sole trader

So if the company has the license then you can get your paperwork and all the required letters from them as they would have an alternate accountant as well
Or you can have a letter in the previous dates which your own accountant would have sent to proof read or something

Thanks 10020132
They have licence to operate but as book keepers only which means they can file the accounts or for that matter anyone can file the accounts as turnover is less than 10M but the letter issued by them wouldn't be accepted as HO has specific requirements in regards to an accountant.. BTW I got it sorted...

Thanks once again
