Hi all,

Please can anyone clarify if I need to take another English test for ILR which I would soon apply for.
I am a Tier 2 migrant and used an IELTS General Test to prove my English skills when I came to the country in 2013. This test is valid for two years so has expired. However, looking at the current guidance, it states that to apply to settle in the UK, you can use a B1 level qualification that has run out if both of the following are true:

it is on the current list of recognised tests

it was accepted for another UK immigration application, eg when you got permission to enter

When I looked at the approved tests, IELTS is there but I see 'IELTS Life skills' and 'IELTS all facets' but not 'IELTS General' which I have. Please does anyone know if this is accepted or not and if you can point me to relevant evidence, that would be great.

I'm applying for ILR under Tier 1 Entrepreneur category & I was also not sure about my ielts academic which I used for my previous applications & I contacted ukvi help centre they confirm if that test centre is still on ukvi list then you can use it doesn't matter which ilets test is that & now new Tier 1 Guidance also confirm that: page 41
Knowledge of Life and Language - settlement
When you apply for settlement you are required to show that you have knowledge of life and language in the United Kingdom before you can be granted (unless you fall under an exemption). You can demonstrate this by passing both the Life in the UK Test and holding an English speaking and listening qualification at level B1 or above (please note: both Academic and General training are acceptable).
