Hello,

I would like some advise please. My husband and I recently got our ILR granted. We didnt apply for our daughter because we knew we would be able to apply for her British citizenship shortly after. Daughter was born in the UK.

We are hoping to go on holiday to Spain and we would all need a schengen visa. What we are trying to find out is if my daughter can still travel on her dependent visa. It is valid until 2019.

My husband was the main applicant on a tier 2 and we were the dependents. Our ILR was through the 5 year route.

The only reason we have not applied for her citizenship yet is because we werent sure how long it takes and wanted to go on holiday within the next few weeks.

I am seeing conflicting information regarding this kind of topic.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Tara

Hi Vinny,

Thank you so much for this information. Would you have a link that I could follow to find this information on the UK Gov website or know where I can find it. I would like to get a print out for this rule that states she will be able to travel. I would like to add this to my daughters Schengen visa application as well as keeping it for when we travel and enter back into the UK.

Kind Regards
Tara

Child's leave remains valid as child is able to extend under 319H or 319J. Child's leave doesn't lapse for short absences.
