Tier-2 General - ILR Application Sanity Check

Hello Everyone,

I’m applying for ILR on the 29th of March using same day service. I’m taking a minimalist approach to keep the application as simple as possible. Could someone be kind enough to have a quick look and advise if the documents I’m including are sufficient.

I’m not including dependents in my application as they do not satisfy the residence requirement for another few months.

My initial Tier 2 General entry clearance was issued on 24/04/2013.

I’ve included the following in my file:

1. Application Form - SET (O)
2. Appointment Booking Checklist
3. Passports x2
4. Photos x2
5. Employer’s letter. Says that I’ll be employed for the foreseeable future, includes SOC code and salary details as well as a one liner confirming my only absence from the UK during five years.
6. Latest Payslip
7. Letter confirming the payslip is authentic.
8. Latest Bank Statement - 1 month
9. BRP
10. LIUK Pass Certificate
11. Trinity College B1 Certificate
12. Photocopies of all documents except the form and checklist.

My only concern is the £6K raise I received a year ago, bumping my salary from £32K to £38K. The increment itself was justifiable though and was timely reported via SMS system.

Ideas/advice much appreciated.

Thank you.

I think you will be fine.

If the salary is justified and reported on SMS then there is nothing to worry about.
I also think your documents are in order.
Although many people tend to submit 3 months payslip and bank statement , 1 month is actually the requirement.

Best of luck

Hi!, It looks fine, For being on the safe site..you can give more payslips and bank statements ( like 3/6 months) and You can take your latest p60 plus an official letter for the salary increment ( optional) with you.

All the very best. Please give us the update.

Thank you both for replying.

As advised, I'll now include payslips, payslip authenticity letters and bank statements to cover last three months.

I would appreciate some advice.

My employer was not happy to put "foreseeable future" in my letter but instead, put 2021 as my current contract end date. So you think this would be ok?

My current Tier 2 visa expires in 2019

A letter is needed to certify payslip as authentic if it is not printed on company branded paper. My employer uses a generic payslip format.

Depends on how you receive your payslip.

Looks fine. Do make sure that your latest salary is reflected in your latest bank statement.

There is no exact definition for forseeable future but 2021 is in 3 years time and I believe that is more than enough for a forseeable future scenario.

As a general rule I would make sure my bank statements( from bank ), payslips and p60's are signed and stamped by the employer.

I supplied documents listed in my original post. Just increased to quantity of payslips and bank statements to 3 each.

I went to Solihull PSC. My application was processed in less than 3 hours in total. No questions asked and no additional documents requested.

Thanks for the details :) I believe, It is a great relief. Congrats again :) Just one more question, please.
One year back when your salary increased £6k then what was the note actually given to the SMS system to justify the increment? and i guess that was the only increment after extension.

The wording of the note was:

We have increased <Name Here> salary from £32000 to £38000. His new salary will be effective from <Date Here>

No other details or justification provided.

It was the only increment since my extension that I accepted. I was offered another increment at the start of this year but I asked my employer to withhold it until I'm done with my ILR application. I was concerned that two increments in a single tax year may raise a red flag.
