Help with SET (O) ILR Form

Hello All,
I am applying for ILR on Tier 1 Exceptional Talent (3 years talent route).
I entered UK in 2009 on student visa. Then switched to PSW. Then T2G and then T1 ET. I have filled the form to large extent (
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... -07-18.pdf) and I need help with following questions:
6.1. When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This refers to the date you entered the
UK at the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based.
For this, should I just go back 3 years and write a date when I had entered UK? For example, I returned from a trip in February 2015. Will this date work?
6.11. Please give the dates of any absences spent outside of the Crown dependencies (Isle of
Man and the Bailiwicks of Jersey and Guernsey) and the UK.
How is this different from 6.2?
7.13. How long have you lived in the UK?
I have a gap of 11 months (I was in India during this time) between two UK stays. Should I add up all the years I have lived in the UK? That would be about 7.5 years in total.
7.14. Please state what social, cultural and family ties you have with
What should I write here?
12H Other purposes or reasons not covered by other forms
Do I need to complete this section?
Also, do I need to submit the pages of the form where it is not applicable? For example, section 13 on page 73 and section 14.1?
Many thanks.

The date you got your Tier 1 ET visa. Not a random date of returning from a holiday etc.
6.11. Please give the dates of any absences spent outside of the Crown dependencies (Isle of
Man and the Bailiwicks of Jersey and Guernsey) and the UK.
How is this different from 6.2?
Repeat the information then.
7.13. How long have you lived in the UK?
I have a gap of 11 months (I was in India during this time) between two UK stays. Should I add up all the years I have lived in the UK? That would be about 7.5 years in total.
Either, however the gap broke your continuous residence.
7.14. Please state what social, cultural and family ties you have with
What should I write here?
What ties you have to home country. Not a trick question. Simply state family type ties you have etc.
12H Other purposes or reasons not covered by other forms
Do I need to complete this section?
Not relevant.
Also, do I need to submit the pages of the form where it is not applicable? For example, section 13 on page 73 and section 14.1?
You need to submit the complete form even there are bits not relevant to you.

Thank you CR001. I have 3 years on T1ET which is sufficient for ILR as I am on talent. I can get 5 years if I put 2 years from T2G but that won't be needed. Should be OK I guess, right?

ILR requirement will be 5 years even on exceptional talent visa UNLESS your endorsement was given under the Designated Competent Bodies’ exceptional talent criteria where you then can apply within 3 years. The 5 years can include time spent under Tier 2G

Thank you Zimba.
I had obtained Exceptional Talent Endorsement (not promise) from the designated body.

Hello All,
Is it compulsory to submit a cover letter with ILR application?
Is there a format that someone can help me with?
Thanks!

No its not compulsory. Only do if it clarifies something on the form you need to or are asked to clarify; and if you, do make it as concise as possible.

Keep this as short/concise as possible

Thank you for reply.
Two more questions:
1. Do I need to provide photocopies of supporting documents?
2. For cohabitation, do I need 2 years or 5 years documents? The form SET O says maximum 2 years.

Hello All,
Since there is just one form, SET(O), for both the main and dependent, I only see that the main applicant is required to sign the form. Is this right or am I missing something?
Many thanks.
