Hi there members,

My family and I are legally in the UK on an Ancestry visa (mine). I have been completing a teaching degree (Bachelor, part-time), and undertake voluntary work at local schools as part of that. Once I finish, I intend to work as a teacher (in the UK). My husband, whom I sponsor on my Ancestry visa, works (and has worked) full time since we arrived on the visa and we subsist on his wage. We are some months off from needing to apply for ILR.

Is our current situation acceptable from an ILR application perspective, relative to my 'employment' status? Do I need to have some payslips showing some work, or is a letter regarding my voluntary work (and my husband's work) sufficient?

How does the fact that we subsist on my husband's wage get entered into the application? Does it get entered directly in section 5.3, with some explanatary notes in a covering letter?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think you should be okay, subject to satisfying 192.
