Passport expired during application - ILR Ancestry

Hi guys,
My husband and I applied for ILR at the beginning of June through the post. We are still waiting for a decision. Unfortunately in the meantime my passport has expired. It was valid when we applied but expired 29/09/18.
Do you think this is going to be a problem? Should I apply for a new passport in case and send it in?
