Hi All
I am a Canadian, moved to UK when I was 2 years old with my mother. Got ILR and then moved to Australia when 17 years old in 2012.
Now I want to return to UK , as I left as a minor do I have a stronger case?
I also visited UK as a visitor in May 2018, will it affect my application?
Thanks in Advance!

Unfortunately, entering as a
visitor breaks the
returning resident's leave.

Does it mean I cannot apply at all?
I couldn't find any specific rule to this effect.
However in example case studies by home office they showed a person granted leave as she was visiting her grandkids as visitor.

However, if you had lived lawfully and continuously in the UK for over ten years, then you may be able to apply for ILR in the UK under
Long residence.

I got my returning residents visa last week,
Had an MP in involved in the process,
Thanks everyone for the input.

Hi, we have a similar situation. I am unsure whether to apply for a returning resident visa as I had visited the UK twice with a visitor visa. I was wondering if you could share what you did in the process?

We applied for resident return with help of migration agent, I don't think I am allowed to name a service on this forum.
Also we got our friends and family in UK write letter of support, secured conditional job offers (school teacher) in rural area. Showed funds available to avoid public find dependency ( house sale).
And requested local MP of the area of job offer to write a letter of support.
That's it, I will recommend to apply with support letters and sell your skills.
Good luck!

Thanks so much! Last question - were the letters you submitted original copies with handwritten signature? I am out of the UK so I was wondering if an e-signature from family/friends will suffice, otherwise I'll ask them to mail it to me.
