English test requirement for ILR

Hi,

I am on Tier 2 general and my 5 years of residence will be completing on July 2020, confused over English test requirement appreciate if someone please clarify. There are two test mention as below :-

1) International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for UKVI
2) IELTS Life Skills (Level B1)

My confusion is , got mixed responses, which one is needed for ILR and what is the latest I need to sit on these test. Meaning can I give it now just for readiness.

What you need is "Trinity’s GESE Grade 5 exam = CEFR B1". This test is simple compared to others and gives you the required eligibility for your English Language skills to obtain ILR. Test score is valid for only 2 years though. If you are aiming to apply in July 2020, you can take it now.

Thanks Raghu, What about 'life in UK test' the website you have given does mention about it and asked to give LIUT additionally.

You need English B1 AND LIUK test for ILR.

Thanks CR001, can I give it LIUK now if my 5 years is completing on July 2020? Will that be valid.

LIUK does not expire. You can do it at any time.
